Final Expense Insurance in Florida
Help comparing final expense, burial and whole life insurance for Florida residents, by phone from QRS Life Group in Atlanta, Georgia.
Final expense coverage for Florida residents
Florida has more residents over 65 than almost any other state, and many of the people who call us from Florida are retirees whose children live elsewhere. A final expense policy is often the simplest way to make sure a funeral in Florida, or a transfer back to a hometown cemetery, does not fall on those children at short notice.
We help Florida residents compare the small whole life policies built for this purpose, explain any waiting period before you apply and handle the paperwork by phone and email.
Our office is in Atlanta, Georgia, and we work with Florida families by phone and email. There is no local branch to visit, and there is no need for one: every step, from the first conversation to the application, is handled remotely.
How life insurance is regulated in Florida
Life insurance sold in Florida is overseen by the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Consumer Services, (850) 413-3089. The department reviews the policies insurers may sell in the state, licenses the people who sell them and handles consumer complaints.
Florida law (section 626.99 of the Florida Statutes) refers to life policies that provide an unconditional refund for at least 14 days after delivery. Check the front page of your policy for the period that applies to it; returning the policy inside that period gets your premium back.
Cities we serve in Florida
We have written a page for each of these Florida cities with the local offices families need when a death happens: Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Orlando. Residents of other Florida towns are just as welcome to call.
What Florida families usually ask us
- What will it cost? Premiums depend on your age, sex, health, tobacco use and the amount of coverage. We give you quotes for your own details instead of a headline number.
- Does my policy move with me? Yes. A policy stays in force if you move to another state, as long as the premiums are paid, and the benefit can be used anywhere.
- What is a waiting period? Some policies pay a reduced benefit if death from illness happens in the first two or three years. Graded death benefits explained covers it in plain language.
