Final expense coverage for Pennsylvania residents

Pennsylvania funds a network of county Area Agencies on Aging that is among the most developed in the country, so Pennsylvanians planning for end-of-life costs have good local help close at hand. What those agencies do not do is sell insurance, and that is where we come in.

We help residents of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and every county in between compare final expense, burial and whole life policies by phone, with the cost, the waiting period and the fine print explained before you apply.

Our office is in Atlanta, Georgia, and we work with Pennsylvania families by phone and email. There is no local branch to visit, and there is no need for one: every step, from the first conversation to the application, is handled remotely.

How life insurance is regulated in Pennsylvania

Life insurance sold in Pennsylvania is overseen by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, 1-877-881-6388. The department reviews the policies insurers may sell in the state, licenses the people who sell them and handles consumer complaints.

In Pennsylvania the refund provision printed in your policy sets how long you have to return it. A policy that replaces an existing one gives you the right to an unconditional refund within 20 days of delivery under the state’s replacement regulation (31 Pa. Code section 81.6). Check the front page of your policy for the period that applies.

Coverage options we compare

The policies we compare are explained on their own pages: final expense insurance, burial and funeral insurance, whole life insurance for seniors, no medical exam life insurance and guaranteed issue life insurance. How it works describes the three steps from a first call to a policy in hand.

Our final expense planning checklist lists the documents and decisions worth putting in order, and the questions and answers page covers the questions we hear most.
