Final Expense Insurance in South Carolina
Help comparing final expense, burial and whole life insurance for South Carolina residents, by phone from QRS Life Group in Atlanta, Georgia.
Final expense coverage for South Carolina residents
South Carolina spells out a buyer’s right to return a new life policy more clearly than most states, which makes it a good place to start when we explain how a free-look period protects you. Families from the Upstate, the Midlands and the Lowcountry call us about final expense coverage every week.
We explain the three kinds of final expense policy, tell you which ones your health answers point to and give you quotes for your own age, all by phone, with no visit and no obligation.
Our office is in Atlanta, Georgia, and we work with South Carolina families by phone and email. There is no local branch to visit, and there is no need for one: every step, from the first conversation to the application, is handled remotely.
How life insurance is regulated in South Carolina
Life insurance sold in South Carolina is overseen by the South Carolina Department of Insurance, 803-737-6160. The department reviews the policies insurers may sell in the state, licenses the people who sell them and handles consumer complaints.
South Carolina law (section 38-63-220 of the South Carolina Code) lets you return a new life policy within at least 10 days of delivery for a full refund, at least 20 days if it replaces another policy and at least 31 days if it was sold by mail (statute text).
Cities we serve in South Carolina
We have written a page for each of these South Carolina cities with the local offices families need when a death happens: Columbia, Charleston. Residents of other South Carolina towns are just as welcome to call.
What South Carolina families usually ask us
- Who receives the money? The beneficiary you name, in cash. They can use it for the funeral, medical bills or anything else. See naming a beneficiary and how a claim works.
- Can I qualify with my health history? Often yes. Depending on your answers to a few health questions you may be offered full coverage from the first day, a policy with a waiting period, or a guaranteed issue policy that asks no health questions.
- How much do I need? Ask funeral homes near you for their General Price List and add the bills you expect to leave. Our guide to working out a coverage amount walks through the steps.
